Cultural Art & Dance

Cultural Art & Dance

The FCSS VAPA team has developed cultural art and dance units for grades K-8, designed to help promote English Language Development. Whether used in-class or after school, students are engaged and challenged by these comprehensive units. These multi-lesson units will introduce students to cultures around the globe, including traditional Greek dance, dance and art from the Punjab region, American Folk Dance and quilt squares, and regional Mexican dance and visual art. Any Given Child

AnyGivenChild

In September of 2012, Fresno Unified School District became the tenth national site for the John F. Kennedy Center’s Any Given Child initiative. The Any Given Child program is designed to assist a community in planning strategically to provide a high-quality arts education for every K-8 student using the existing resources of the school district, city government and the local arts community aided by the Kennedy Center. Any Given Child–Fresno County has now expanded to six school districts and communities: Fresno Unified (2012), Sanger Unified (2015), Clay Joint Elementary School District (2016), Fowler Unified (2016), Caruthers Unified (2017), and Selma Unified (2017).
